Hygiene Kit Drive - This is an on going collection drive

Do you collect freebies like travel-sized shampoo from hotels or toothbrushes from the dentist? If you do and they are collecting dust, then consider donating to the people who would really use them. Hygiene kits are made out of items such as a tooth brush, toothpaste, comb, deodorant, lotion, soap, shampoo, conditioner, shaving cream, razors, blades, wipes, tissue and feminine hygiene products.

We are asking our MDK family, friends, and clients alike to donate any unused, complimentary hotel toiletries!

This is an ongoing collection, each time our basket is nearly full, the toiletries will be taken to a shelter for dispensing. So, remember us if you are traveling or have stored toiletries from past excursions, we need you HELP!

March 2012 AND March 2011 Partner

May 2010

MDK recently supported our very own Melissa Stonebrook's (Operations Manager) daughter, Emily Stonebrook. Emily's goal is to raise $5,000.00 towards the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. MDK reserved a full day of baking in shifts, we BAKED AND BAKED - at the end of day we were able to donate a HUGE range of cookies for Emily's bake sale.

Emily Stonebrook: "I am a nurse at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and work on the Stem Cell Transplant Unit. I see cancer everyday I go to work... most of which are leukemias and lymphomas. I see how horrible this disease is.. AND how far we have come. However, we have a ways to go, so I decided to join the LLS Team in Training because I know I can help make a difference.. and so can YOU!

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is contributing to research everyday to find ways to stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. Team in Training is a way for athletes (beginners and experts alike) to complete endurance events and raise money that goes directly to LLS... and directly towards the cure.

I have decided to complete a 100 mile bike ride in Lake Tahoe this June... they say it is America's most beautiful bike ride... so I am ready!! However, I have to raise a certain amount of money (and train pretty heavily) to get there.. While $5,000 may seem like a pretty hefty amount, I know I can do it with your help!!"

Update June 2010: Emily successfully raised over and beyond her goal of $5,000.00 - Way to GO Emily! We (MDK'ers) are proud to have been a part of your accomplishment.

February 2010

The teddy bear has become a universal symbol of love and tenderness. In an effort to transcend that message to the thousands of orphans in Haiti affected by the recent earthquake in Port au Prince, MDK Financial Group, Inc. has partnered with The Westchase Junior Chamber (Jaycees) initiated "Bear Hugs for Haiti", a teddy bear donation drive implemented throughout the month of February.

The community has been asked to donate their new, or gently used teddy bears or stuffed animals towards the cause. We hope to collect 500 bears by the end of the program.

MDK Financial Group, Inc is proud to be an established donation site! Donated teddy bears will be accepted thru Friday, March 12. The collected bears will then be given to I Am Change, a local non-profit organization in The Woodlands dedicated towards the care and education of orphans.
We look forward to your support! Your Friends, MDK Financial Group, Inc.!!
